Apr 3 & 4, 2004 - Year2003 Final League Award Presentation and Party.

Skating once a week is never in the package of being a VIRUS. Just look at our program. It was a weekend of mad skating, feasting, singing, swimming, tanning, gyming and most of all, gathering of all the mad Viruses to award them for their effort.

Friday Nite Skate was a long distance workout, then came Saturday, the highly anticipated event - TSV Award Presentation Party.

After 8 hours of skating (8pm-4am) on Friday night & with only 4hrs of sleep, still nothing can stop us from gathering at Raffles Town Club on the hot Saturday afternoon.

During checking-in at the lobby, we simply looked like a group of tourists. Be it big luggage, big backpacks, small backpacks, sunshades, jockey caps, flowing dresses, sporty pants, beachwear, water cooler, GameBoy Advance. Just name it, we have it all. Oh ya, not forgetting our second set of footwork - our Skates!

Upon entering our 2 Straits Suites, everyone quickly settled down and marked their territory. Someone said he wants to sleep in the Jacuzzi because it looked really tempting. J The arrangement of prizes is another fanfare. While some are comfortably enjoying every bit of the air-conditioning along with the nice Cable TV channels, others are busy checking out the facilities. Virus Evo and I quickly rushed to the pool to catch the last bit of the scorching sun.

Not long, everyone came to join us in the pool. Where there are Viruses, there are bound to be competition. 15m swim race, mini water polo game, ugly water balloon fest, little seahorse ride and our potato chip feeding session..etc.etc.etc... It was soooooo much fun! There was a sense of reluctance when it was time to go. Where do we get the energy? I really don't know.

Back at our rooms, it was Karaoke time!! Dinner was one elaborate affair. Within minutes, our TSV adviser, Leon arrived just in time for our Karaoke dinner. Dinner was greatly enjoyed in 2 rooms - in one, the crooning Viruses sang their hearts out, in another, the teasing and laughing their heads off at the 'Miss Singapore Pageant'.

Here comes the white, red, blue & yellow. Everyone is dressed up for the occasion, in our 'Swift, Silent, Deadly' jersey. 'Silent' was far from everyone's mind tonight, the room is filled with laughter, cheers and excited chatter.

One after another, Leon gave out prizes to their respective owners. Everyone expect the expected, but there is more than meets the eye. Some surprising prizes were given out not only once but twice! Congratulations to all the Viruses for their successful efforts and their dedication to the team and the sports.

All the glamour smiles were captured by the speedy digitals - poses after poses. :P I've come to the conclusion that Viruses can skate, they can sing, can swim, can boogie, can eat and know how to have fun too.

Footwork time! After gathering our strengths, we headed out of RTC, bare-footed with our beloved skates in hand. Of course we must complete the night with a super midnight skate!

Route: RTC, Bukit Timah Road, Clementi Rd, Kent Ridge Crescent, PRATA TIME!, Law Link, South Buona Vista Road, North Buona Vista Road, Holland Road, Tanglin Road, Orchard Road, Orange Grove Road, Stevens Road, back to RTC.

Waaoo... its my first time up-ing so many slopes and down-ing them too! Now just where do we get the energy? I just don't know.

The next day: Yummy authentic American breakfast, followed by Gym, sunbathing and light soaking in the pool in the afternoon. The day ended with a bloody thriller, 'Hannibal'.

...Wait! This is not the end. With the exception of Baby Virus and Evo, the Viruses slept during my favourite thriller. Yes, they SLEPT. They all fell asleep!!! Energy depleted, they slept like babies.

It's been a wonderful weekend and I'm glad to be a part of it. Go VIRUSES Go!!!............. yawn........ x_x
