Mar 6, 2004 - TSV Lunar New Year Lo-hei and TechTalk (Boots & Frames) on 2 Feb 2004
Photos and article by Ang Tian Teck.

The recent series of events, festivals, and races are just too overwhelming. As I navigate through the folders in my beloved computer - a Macintosh, I came across a folder with photographs staring at me, and I realized that I had missed out mentioning a very special event - a TSV Lunar New Year lunch cum a technical talk by our advisor, Leon Lim.

Leon is probably one of the most technical people in Singapore who is able to advise the team on technical matters relating to inline speed skating. As the distributor for many major brands of skating products like Bont, ZeroDrag, Maple, Verduci, Miller, and others (past and current); his depth of technical knowledge is truly impressive and educational.

Viruses gathered on the 2nd Feb for lunch and a round of 'lo-hei', a Chinese raw fish dish to bring prosperity and good health to start the year. After a satisfying meal, we gathered around finding our own comfort spot. Some sitting on the floor, while others on the sofa.

Leon shared with us technical information about boots, frames and bearings. He enlightened us on the benefit of different types of frames and its suitability for different skaters. Wow! The physic and skating style of individual skaters has so much to play when selecting the right speed equipment.

It was an eye (ears) opening session and a fun afternoon for all of us. And, of course, we couldn't go home without a round of skating at ECP. Go Viruses go!
