National Day is of course TSV family day outing. Viruses decided to top up our amino acids intake, so to Pengarang we Viruses marched. To our fav seafood, here we come.

Ferry ride was pure fun and exciting especially for Baby Virus who went about excitedly until he found his perfect spot at the aft of the boat with Virus CK. Shutterbug me was of course busy snapping away. Other Viruses were busy getting into their comfort zones, suntan spots and snoozing corners.

Safety vehicle briefed and checked, Viruses kicked off with a cool cadence pack down the long straight road of the infamous Pengarang. The anxious look on the 1st timers soon turned to determined scowl oblivious to the passing vehicles. I'm especially proud to see them push with such fortitude. Several like-minded Singaporeans passed us in their gorgeous bikes and we even met a few familiar faces from the last charity skate. Go cyclists Go!!

With Virus CK as lead cyclist and Virus Topless as back cyclist, 17 km of leisure skating at about 22 to 25 kmph was such a breeze. Viruses went "Heeee..... Haaaa.... Wheeee....". Just why do Viruses sing and skate, I simply have no answers Ð but it's nice to have music in the air when you are pushing under the hot Malaysian sun.

Food, glorious food..... Butter lobster, crispy lobster, black pepper crabs, steam garoupa, yummy bead curd, sambal kangkong, baby kailan, young juicy coconuts, jello ice-creams.... All these good food at good M'sian $ is such a reward. Viruses stuffed themselves till they could eat no more. Baby Virus was silent for a very long time and when I finally looked at him, he was lost to the world chomping down his fav black pepper crab Ð mouth and face coated with black pepper sauce and licking his little fingers happily. Even our bottomless pits looked eminently ballooned.

After a short round of shopping and stretching out, Viruses got ready to hit the road again.

On our way back, "Mr Half Iron Man " joined us as lead cyclist with his super light Giant. I was told his normal cruising speed is at 45kmph and decided to check out his prowess. Truly, he didn't even sweat going at >35kmph (with me hanging on to him). Chey!!

Another 17 km of skating with full stomachs and under the hot 2pm sun is quite something else. Yet, Viruses huffed and puffed their way back to the ferry terminal. At the last 7 to 8 km, team Elite started chasing bikers and racing each other on their 80mm, 90mm, 100mm and 620mm wheels. Mad Viruses tore down the highway throwing lactic to the wind. "Chiong ah....."

When we finally reached the terminal, spectators went, "Aiya..... Stop... Stop...! Wah... you go so fast, no scared ah...?"

The ferry operators quickly gathered our passports and went about directing us to our ferry. With each Virus comfortably settled down, a few were fast asleep despite the engine's fiery noises. Looking at the sky with all shapes of clouds and watching the sea go by, bring reminiscence of my diving trips not so long ago. Someday, Viruses will swap their skates, helmet and guards with snorkel, fins and mask.

Thank you mad Viruses for another day of chionging up North. Thank you Lord for this beautiful day of sun, wind, food and friends.
