May 27, 2007 - NTU Bike Rally 128km round Singapore
By Virus Lady Speedster.

Wouldn't it be fantastic to skate 128km (79.54 miles) round Singapore on open roads, with the escort of Uncle Sam (police) and sweating it all out with packs of cyclists?
Mad Viruses did just that as they gathered early in the morning amidst a sea of cyclists, at the start point of East Coast Park for the NTU Bike Rally.

Early in the morning SIX o'clock
Viruses they gathered at the dock
All geared up in white singlets
With gorgeous abs and speed of Bont

Skating for the SUPER marathon
128 kilometres to go
With a heave and then a ho
We pushed our way past biking souls

Moving off from East Coast Park we went
Relax skate to Nichol Highway tent
Motorists stared
And Bikers glared
Mad Viruses didn't care

Uncle Sam he came to pose for us
Jenn and Terence beamed with such a rush
Sweats are dripping from every pore
All the way to Labador

Skating up the West Coast Highway route
Houses, factories and the reservoir
Hot and sunny
Wind not funny
Somehow we reached NTU

Speeding hard along Lim Chu Kang Road
Hitting speed of thirty-eight or more
Virus Yang in new Red Vaypor
Taking lead against the wind

Zooming in a straight long human chain
Packed together in a peleton
Synchronized legs
Harmonized kicks
Enjoying most what makes us tick

Pushing hard against the rough tarmac
Vibrations they are but such a dread
Huffed and puffed along the river
All too soon it was Kranji

Cyclists say we are as fast as them
Gave the thumbs up and say, "See you there"
Sungei Kadut and then Woodlands
Seventy kilometers…

DC and Coolzone they went for more
All the way to Mandai to see monkeys
With the hot sun and rough runway
Burning lactic all the way

Early in the afternoon
One o'clock
Viruses they rested on the block
Sandwich lunch with Gatorade
Energized for Seletar

Viruses they glided and they sliced
Uncle Sam couldn't believe his eyes
When they popped their colourful heads
Round the bend of Serangoon

Double pushed along with aeroplanes
Changi Coastal Road's windy left lane
Diligent shadows coming home
Rippling muscles fully toned

Viruses finished with all their might
East Coast Park is such a welcome sight
Relentless skating for full NINE hours
Total miles of almost EIGHTY!

Wah liao….. Enough lah…. Both poem and skating…….. x_x
Until the next one…..
Here's mad Viruses checking out….. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz
