It has been another tough but successful year for the Viruses. With the completion of another successful league, means time to come together and award those hardworking athletes for their efforts. We find ourselves all decked out by the pool filled with great prizes and sumptuous food. A big thank you to all who have prepared the food.

Laughters filled the thick warm smoky air as Viruses were busy barbecuing the succulent meat. A nice warm feeling begin to engulf me as I watched the Viruses gather - fooling around in and around the pool, chomping down the satay, curry chicken, fried rice, chicken wings and busy with their merry making…. Some rushed down from work and other appointments, but a Virus never misses the award party - celebration of job well done, dedication that doesn't go unnoticed, but most of all, the gathering of a family.

"Halo halo…. Pass the salt…. This chicken needs more seasoning…."

"Eh…. Who bought these pizzas? I am allergic to flour…… Kekeke….."

"Curry is very lemak…. I want ALL the potatoes!! Eat all these, fortunately tomorrow no race!"

"Ooi Fei-char…. You finished almost all the pizzas leh!!!"

"Wah….. Love these satays…. The sauce is superb!"

Next up - the highlight of the day, prize presentation! It's encouraging to see everybody committed in training and trying to improve themselves. To be able to skate at this competitive level, it is no doubt hard work but it definitely pays off with all the results cast on stone. Well done Viruses!! Looking at the medals and prizes laid out across the table, I couldn't help but be proud of this Virus family that stayed united through all thick and thin.

Congratulations to winners of the Men's Open - Daryl Chan; Women's Open - Ethel Lui; Junior Open - Sean Lim. Congratulations to all other winners - Best Improvement, Best Matrix, Best Rookie, Best Teams and more…. Every one is a Winner. As each athlete compete to beat their own timing and to become better; as they turn up to train hard for the sport that they love; as they turn up just to support other team mates who are the Elites of the team. Thank you everyone. You are ALL WINNERS!

Finally, we are who we are not only because of our hard work but also our very own Coach (Jenn) who comes after us when we are lazy and motivates us. Thank you for taking your time to nurture us into such wonderful athletes. Thank you Coach for helping us to stay focused, to develop faster twitch, better endurance, higher mitochondria density, ATP, etc….

Thank you God for blessing us with so much. For being there during every training, every race, every event and for keeping us safe. Thank you for blessing Team SpeedVirus.

Thank you Viruses for making the award party happen. It is our pride, joy and success. With continuous hard work, we can only move forward and improve. Once again congratulations to all the winners. Go Viruses GO GO GO!!!
