April 06, 2008 - Time Trial - An Exciting Beginning
By Virus Doc

A fresh start to the new league has started, and what more, in the midst of the Singapore Inline Cup! With the outstanding performances that the Viruses have shown so far, will this be a good opportunity to slash more timings and beat more records? Read on to find out!

"Ready on the line………….." Absolute silence followed, the 3 time keepers kept watch like eagles on their prey, ready to press the start button with lightning fast reflexes. You can almost hear the slow controlled breaths of the sprinters as they focus their energy into visualizing the crucial first steps ahead. Just as I thought time came to a halt, the unmistakable sounds of urethane versus the concrete floor resonated through the premises. With all eyes fixated on the sprints, these sounds did no justice to the grace and power that the skaters displayed as they lunged on their skates round grueling corners to reach the end point.

With choppy strokes bursting out faster than a master chef's chopper (haha, this sounds really corny), Virus after Virus gave the floor a good beating, and without good reason so as they emerged with smiles at the end of the sprints.

After the sprints, it was time for some middle distance action! This was an exciting race as the competition heated up with skaters going side by side for what seemed like endless rounds.

"Come on! Stop drafting and break!"

"Don't slow down! Don't stand up!"

"Quick get up and go!"

"Last round! Go Go Go GO GO!"

Were heard among many of the screams that punctuated this race to the finish. The Viruses pushed on despite their weary faces, and all completed their TT with weary but happy faces.

Kudos to those who bettered their timings. Try harder for those that were short of the mark.

Whatever it is, it was an exciting beginning. :)
